The Lady Dawgs hosted Bryan on Tuesday night in Bulldawg gym.   Both teams would come out scoring in the first quarter but Bryanwould hold the lead,  18-13.   Cove would solidify their defense and find the basket more in the second quarter holding Bryan to 9, while themselves scoring 17.  Cove would have the half time lead,  30-27.  The second half was much like the first with Bryan winning the 3rd quarter and the Lady Dawgs winning the 4th.  Cove put up 22 points in the final quarter and held Bryan to 11.  This enabled Cove to secure the victory,  60-53.  This was the last home game of the season for the Lady Dawgs and the last home game in the careers for 5 Lady Dawgs seniors.   Thank you to those seniors:  Alaura Gallups,  Norvona Crook, Micah Anderson, Jasmine Sankey, and AZ Knotts.  Statistics for this game are as follows:  Knotts with 20 pts., 7 boards,  3 assists, & a steal; Kyra Gaston with 14 pts,  5 boards,  & 2 blocked shots; Samaria Bostic with 7 pts,  3 boards,  & 2 steals; Jasmine Sankey with 8 pts & 7 boards; Micah Anderson had 4 pts & an assist; Jade Chapman had 3 pts,  assist, & a board;Yvonna Drayton added 2 pts,  2 boards,  & a steal; Gallups had a steal,  assist, & 3 boards; Danielle McGriff had 2 pts,  2 boards,  & 2 steals; Khia Horton added 4 steals & 2 boards; Ta’Shayla Marrie added 4 assists & 6 steals.   Cove was 44% from the field and struggled from free throw line at 37%.  Great team contribution for the Lady Dawgs win.   Cove will play their final game on Friday at Shoemaker.  Come out and support your Lady Dawgs.
